KidWrite offers English language arts workshops to get your child ready for high school or the SAT. Our clubs and workshops are designed to fit with your child’s school-year activities.

Grades 5-8

Dystopian Literature: The Giver

Dystopian literature describes what happens when the best intentions go horribly wrong. Our four-week workshop will focus on The Giver, by Lois Lowry, with other works as examples.

Grades 10-12

Shakespeare: Macbeth

We’ll discuss the ways in which this play remains relevant and the beauty of Shakespeare’s language. We’ll also discuss the themes, character development, and plot.

4-week Zoom session: November 5–December 3, 2025 (no meeting on November 26)

Wednesdays: 7:00-8:00 PM ET

High School English

8-week Zoom session: October 20–December 15, 2025

Punctuation (use of the comma, semicolon, colon, apostrophe, etc.)
Grammar (pronouns, possessive pronouns, etc.)
Rhetorical devices (metaphor, personification, etc.)
Writing (from prompt to 5-paragraph essay)

At KidWrite!, I help kids develop the skills they need for success in English Language Arts. My approach is to create a collaborative environment in classes and a partnership in individual tutoring. We start with the basics, filling in gaps and moving ahead as appropriate.

My goal is to help each child become a word lover, confident writer, and avid reader.
