Ready for some Language Arts Adventure?

Skills

As rising 9th- to 12th-graders look forward to enjoying their summer, they are also looking ahead to a mix of the PSAT, SAT, Honors English Language, Honors English Literature, AP English Language and Composition, and AP English Literature and Composition. It’s enough to make anyone anxious, but none of these is too big to handle. And, the requirements of each overlap with the requirements of the others. For most high school kids, summer is the time to prep because the homework during the school year, especially with multiple Honors or AP classes, takes up a significant portion of each day. Add sports or clubs to that, and there’s not a lot of time for anything else. Our prep class is designed to take advantage of the greater amount of free time during the summer without ruining the summer.

Prep for SAT and Beyond

This workshop is offered for rising 9th- to 12th-graders.

It takes place for 8 weeks, from June 23–August 15.

Enrollment is limited to 15 students per class.

There is homework. In fact, about two hours of homework is assigned each week on Monday and is due each Saturday.

There is a two-hour Zoom workshop held each Thursday evening (taped for viewing later).

The class includes:

  • Grammar Review – all topics on the SAT,
  • Vocabulary – must-know words,
  • Reading – assignments to boost fluency,
  • Reading Comprehension and Sentence Completion – as on the test,
  • Exercises to test understanding of the material.

Materials are provided.
