We’re big fans of programs that have a core set of books that people read. By doing this, there is a starting point for comparisons as well as built-in conversation starters.
Our core books include the Humphrey Series. These stories are told from the point of view of a classroom hamster named Humphrey. But – Humphrey is no ordinary classroom hamster. He is a little guy with a big heart and enough empathy to power the world. There are English and Spanish versions of this series.
We will try to arrange an interview with the author, Betty G. Birney. In the meantime, take a look at our Talk About and Conversando posts that provide you with an adult-sized view of this pint-sized hero.
